Autism is a disorder that affects a person’s language, intuitive thought and ability for social interaction. Currently there is no known cause of autism and no known cure. However studies show that autism is the result of genetic and environmental factors. Regardless of recent publicity, there is no known connection between autism and vaccinations.

Children with autism are usually diagnosed between 18 months and 3 years of age. Symptoms may include the inability for a child to speak by 16 months of age, inability to respond to their name or loss of language or social skills. Children with autism often do not know how to play with toys as other children do or may exhibit excessive need to line up toys or objects or become obsessively attached to one particular toy or object.
